High-Intensity focused Ultrasound used on the face is essentially a non-invasive replacement for face lifts. How long does the procedure take?
Treatment duration varies based on the patient’s prior medical history and age. A single HIFU session usually lasts between 30 minutes and 1.5 hours.
What can I expect before & after the treatment?
Before the treatment, you will have a consultation to ensure that you are comfortable with the procedure and that all of your questions are answered. Your qualified therapist will mark out the areas of your face or body. Finally, a cooling ultrasound gel is applied to so that the HIFU energy can be preformed effectively and as comfortably as possible.
Is HIFU better than RF?

Both technologies will produce and restore collagen production.
HIFU can go deeper into the SMAS layer to target fat & muscle, while RF is effective in protecting and maintaining your HIFU results and will require more treatments.
What are the contraindications for HIFU?
HIFU is not recommended for people with infections and open lesions, serve cystic acne, and metal or active implants in the treatment area.
It is also not recommended for pregnant or breast feeding women or people with the following conditions;
- Active systemic or local skin disease that may alter wound healing
- Herpes Simplex
- Autoimmune Disease
- Diabetes
- Epilepsy
- Bells Palsy
* It also not to be preformed on the face if you have has any Botox of Fillers within the last 2 weeks
Is there any after care?
Typically, you may return to normal activities immediately after your HIFU treatment.
You may feel the treated area is sore to touch for up to a week.
If the skin is slightly pink or red in areas following the treatment avoid hot water when washing the face or hot showers until the 'blush' has subsided.
Soothing, non irritating creams may be used such Ocosmedics Medi soothe or Pelactiv cooling gel post treatment are both available for purchase in store & online.
Avoid exfoliation or any aggressive skin treatments for at least one week or until sensitivity in the treatment area has subsided.
